In the mid-1960's (I was in my early teens) my "Grandma Pat" helped me make a "Granny Dress."
They were all the rage back then.
You'd typically head down to "T G & Y" or
"Woolworth" for fabric, thread, pattern, etc.
Fabric was about 65 cents a yard.
And, they measured the yardage with one one these...
Measure...
Snip...
Rip...
Such a clear memory for such a long time ago!
