Yesterday one of my dearest friends posted this on Facebook :
Isn't this beautiful? I can't crochet. I tried once. I tried crocheting a pair of slippers for my new grandson....he is now 9... the slippers are still in the UFO pile.
That got me to thinking about all the creative women I know:
I could never do that... could you?
What is your creative outlet. Leave a comment.....
Well, we ARE made in God's image and He is the MOST creative one of all!

DeleteHi Char, and thanks, this was very interesting to read. Amen! I actually made an incredible ski outfit, Daisy Kingdom, of course! It was a jacket with zip-off sleeves, so one could be "vested" for spring skiing. It also had two exterior zippered pockets, and one interior pocket. I did a multi-coloured over-layed yolk, with the same on sleeves. Then a collar to pick up the rose colour of one of the over-lays. Of course, when the jacket was not fully zipped, I wanted the colour to match, so I did an inside overlay in the collar colour down each zipper side of the lining. And "bib" overall ski pants with gators, stretch inserts and two zippered pockets, and a small zippered pocket for keys! Whew! All this was an outer shell, with a thinsulate lining, and then the regular lining. Took hours to put this all together, not to mention planning the modifications of the over-lays, I actually had quite a few people who asked if I would make same outfit for them. One said they would buy me a steak dinner. My reply was that I "borrowed the design" from a ready-to-wear jacket that I saw at a ski shop in Bend, and it was $250.00. So "Nope" to the offer of a steak dinner!
DeleteDear abcqdg.....IMPRESSIVE!!! I made a number of DK dresses for my daughter (when she would still wear "home made" dresses) and while I drooled over DK ski wear patterns, I was never confident enough to tackle one. Kudos to you!
